With the introduction of the 18th Edition Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671) and other recent urgent construction updates, Training in Electrical is pleased to offer the very latest version (updated) of this much sought-after Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations qualification

Having under gone critical changes and further development, we are now offering this brand-new course. Under the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications of UK Degree-Awarding Bodies (FHEQ), candidates who successfully complete this course will achieve a Level 4 Award in Higher Education.

It is recommended that all candidates possess a recognised qualification in Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations and the latest 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). It is also desirable that entrants have completed either the City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 or EAL equivalent qualifications.

To pass this qualification learners will need to achieve 2x parts of this course, which comprises of the following:

1x Centre set and marked assignment
1x Centre set and marked controlled written paper

Learners will be expected to dedicate time each week for home study. During this time, you will produce the course assignment. You will be guided throughout this process with support, advice and constructive feedback from your tutor. This assignment portfolio will then form part of your overall qualification.

This qualification is delivered over several evening classes, with a short break in between, allowing you to have the time to prepare for the controlled written assessment, which learners will sit on the final evening of the course.

This qualification is delivered over one full week 9 AM -  4PM or over 2 consecutive weekends. There will then be a break of 4x weeks for you to complete your assignment portfolio. The course will then continue with a further 4x consecutive evening classes to submit your course work and prepare for the written assessment.

Course content covers

- Understand the relationship with statutory and non-statutory requirements. 
- The electrical installation design, construction and commissioning process. 
- Understand BS 7671 requirements relating to electrical installation design. 
- Be able to apply design and verification procedures for single and poly phase electrical installations. 
- Understand fundamental principles for the design and installation of associated protective systems relating to electrical installations.  
- Understand factors that affect choice of alternative energy sources and environmental technologies used within electrical installation design.

Entry Requirements

This qualification is suitable for learners who have successfully complete either the EAL or City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or similar. It is recommended that you also possess the 18th Edition Requirements of Electrical Installations (BS7671) and a suitable Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations qualification.
